Tea Tree Oil - Lice Preventative

Tea Tree Oil - LICE Preventative

10 ml - $5.95          30 ml – 12.95

The school year has started and Tea Tree is a great oil to have on hand as a preventative measure for lice.

Tea Tree - Melaleuca alternifolia  Because the benefits of tea tree oil are so recognized, it is no doubt one of the most popular essential oils of all times. It’s most known for its antiseptic, antifungal and antimicrobial properties. For this reason, and that it enhances the immune system, it has been traditionally used for coughs, flu, bronchitis and colds. It is also effective for skin (acne) and hair (oil controlling, dandruff, a lice preventative and stimulates the scalp). Its regeneration properties also reduce scar tissue and swelling which makes it perfect for healing wounds, insect bites and acne. It will also stop a toothache when applied to the gums.

Directions: For a lice preventative place 2-3 drops into your child’s shampoo, wash, let it sit for a couple minutes, then rinse. You can add it to conditioner as well. You can do this once or twice a week as a preventative measure. If there is an outbreak in your child’s school perhaps do not use conditioner until the outbreak is gone. Lice love clean, soft hair. It is best to dilute the tea tree oil in shampoo than to apply direct. You still can apply direct however you never need more than 2-3 drops for your child’s head. Please read our “Please Note” area below!  It has been known that some people have used the tea tree oil as lice treatment however because the oils are very concentrated and 100% pure some children react differently. You can google tea tree oil for lice treatment and see if it is the right choice for your family.

Also if you purchase a larger amount of Tea Tree oil you can also pour 1/3 of a 30 ml bottle in a 2 oz spray bottle and lightly spray your child’s backpack and clothes in the morning before school when there is an outbreak, or as a preventative a couple times a week.

Please note: Even though Pure Essential Oils are all natural and usually do not cause allergic reactions it is best to dilute with some lotion and test a small skin patch before applying it in your shampoo. Please consult with a physician before using on children under 2. Please use with caution when applying directly. Only 2-3 drops are needed.

A little about Essential Oils: Essential oils are used both for their scent and for their healing properties and are extracted from flowers, herbs, trees, vegetables, or spices. Essential oils are easily absorbed through the skin and disperse within minutes throughout the body. Only a small quantity of essential oil is required to bring about results as they are highly concentrated.
